Hello and welcome to The House of Chrome. You are looking at a very unique older Turner 95D model dynamic microphone from the 1950’s that comes with a newer desk stand that compliments the mic nicely in which to display. Pic # 2 shows this microphone and it’s basic characteristics from an old Turner advertisement I have. This was a smaller, affordable “general purpose mic” meant to be used for paging and dispatch situations where a reliable mic was needed but not so expensive like some of the cardioid mics being sold at that time. Microphones in the 1950’s were extremely expensive. This 95D was easy on the pocket book and a good choice for basic uses. The mic itself is 8 inches long but very light weight. It should be noted that this mic has a non-working original element and so it should be used for display, prop or repair purposes only. It should also be noted that the Turner badge states that it’s a “95” model…not a 95D so I will have to assume that this is a very early example of the 95D. I have never seen a 95D model without a 95D stamp. Turner probably called this the 95 when it was first sold then changed it to the 95D to clarify that it was in fact a dynamic model. The 95 series came in two different styles over the years with the only cosmetic changes coming in the lower half that carried the Turner badge and the type of element used. The 95 microphone either had the crystal element or the Dynamic element. All 95 D’s carried the better sounding dynamic element but again, this one is in non-working condition. This 95 series also came in the S95D. The “S” model had the on / off switch making it a bit more expensive that the regular model. It would make a good repair piece as well if you have a good working dynamic element from a rougher looking Turner 95 mic. As seen in the pictures provided this mic has a satin chrome finish and it’s in excellent cosmetic shape. No dents, scratches, pitting, fractures or missing pieces. 100% complete with nothing loose or rattling. Joint mechanism is firm and works excellent. The threading for a stand and cable is perfect. This mic will screw onto any desk or floor stand. The mic takes a 2 pin type cable to operate that is not included. MICROPHONE STAND SHOWN IS PART OF THIS SALE… The stand is actually a newer Chinese model. It’s a plastic and metal & plastic design with flat black paint that has a cool older deco vibe that compliments the mic nicely. The stand is basically brand new with almost zero physical wear. The stand itself is appx 5 1/2 inches tall X 4 1/2 inches wide. There’s enough weight in the stand to keep the mic from falling over no matter how low the mic is tilted. Total height with mic and stand when mic is raised fully upright is 13 1/4 inches. And as with all my items… I can promise you will be happy with it for the price paid. If not…I have a no hassle return policy. The shipping will be on you as I believe that’s fair but the purchase price would be refunded. Simply return in the same nice condition…period.
