Fast/slow recharger of 12 V batteries. 10 A recharge of auto, truck, farm tractors and vans, 2 A for motorcycle, ATV, snowmobile, garden tractor or overnight trickle of auto, truck, van or farm equipment. The Schumacher SE-1010-2 dual rate manual automotive battery charger will recharge lead-acid type batteries: conventional and low maintenance, maintenance free, and deep cycle; such as those found in autos, trucks, tractors, airplanes, vans, RV, and golf carts. Unit features both a selector switch and a built-in ammeter. Flexible For 12 volt batteries either 2 or 10 amp charge rate may be selected. You may use either the 2 or 10 amp charge rate on large batteries. For batteries rated 28 ampere hours and less, use the 2 amp charge rate. The smaller the battery the greater the risk of harming it by using the 10 amp charge rate. Easy To Read Ammeter The ammeter gives a reading of the AMP draw by the battery from the SE-1010-2. When a fully discharged battery is connected to the charger, the ammeter will read the maximum output rating of the charger, either 2 AMPS or 10 AMPS, depending on the AMP selection. The charge current will gradually taper down as the battery approaches full charge. As the charge current tapers down, the ammeter needle will also move down. The percent of charge scale in intended as a visual aid to help simplify reading the state of charge. It is scaled for use with the 10 amp charge rate only. For the 2 amp charge rate use the red triangle. The percent of charge is based on current drawn by the battery. Accuracy will vary with the size and battery type – as a battery takes on a charge, it draws less current from the charger, correspondingly less of the area will fall under the meter needle. Manual Operation The Schumacher SE-1010-2 is a manual (non-automatic) battery charger. A manual charger will continue to charge and will not shut off which may result in overcharging. This battery charger is equipped with a self-resetting circuit breaker. This device protects the charger from temporary overloads. In the event of an overload, the circuit breaker will trip open and after a short cooling off period will reset automatically. Product Features • Two-in-one charger provides 10-amp manual and 2-amp trickle charger for 12 volt batteries. • 2 amp rating is excellent for trickle charging batteries in motorcycles, snowmobiles, lawnmowers and garden tractors. • Can be switched to 10 amp medium rate charging for larger batteries in 3-5 hours. • 2 amp trickle charge for motorcycle and small automotive batteries in 3-8 hours.
